How much detergent does your household really need?
The right dose depends on the number of washes, water hardness and the level of soiling—not only on household size. Here is a simple way to calculate your supply without storing heavy packs or making emergency trips to the shop.

Count washes, not people
Two families of four can have completely different consumption. Sport, young children, pets and frequent travel change the laundry rhythm more than household size alone. For two weeks, record every cycle you run, then multiply the result by two. This gives you a reliable monthly starting point.
Factor in water hardness
In hard water, some detergent ingredients work on minerals instead of stains. Your local water supplier can tell you the hardness level. Follow the dosing range on the label and resist adding extra product just in case.
A supply that does not take over your home
The most convenient delivery should arrive about a week before you expect the product to run out. After the first two cycles, you can adjust the frequency. A good subscription lets you skip or bring a parcel forward with one click.
